Timber Creek Information Literacy

Power of Inquiry

inquiry is effectively generating knowledge from questioning and searching. It is a powerful process to teach to prepare students to be problem solvers and successful learners in the 21st century. Inquiry provides 5 kinds of learning:

1. Curriculum Content

2. Information Literacy

3. Literacy Competence

4. Social Skills

5. Learning How to Learn

The second semester I would like to collaborate with each grade level on a inquiry unit. Be thinking of a subject you might be interested in doing it on.

Website Highlight

Questioning is such an important part of being a learner. Wonderopolis is a website created by the National Center for Families Learning (NCFL). Each day there is a question posed called the "Wonder of the Day." Along with the wonder will be the answer to the question and any videos or audio clips to explain the information more. You can even search by grade and subject matter. What a great way to start a week or day with a question to keep the mind active!
