What is the situation?

TIbet believes that China is suppressing their culture. China has neglected to help Tibet peoples by not providing a supplant to the Dalai Lama, allowing expression of culture and worship. Several Tibetan's follow the steps of the Dalai Lama, but China see's the spiritual leader as a separatist threat.

How long has this been going on?

Tibet had has a complex relationship with China for over 1500 years. In 1959 am anti-Chinese protest was help in TIbet that caused a lot of trouble. After the protest, the Dalai Lama fled to India and and life for Tibet became even worse. Large amounts of civilians died of starvation or from violence.

What is China's argument?

Beijing says that TIbet will be wealthier under China's control. China is also trying to make strides by building transportation from the Lhasa to Qinghai provinces. Tibet also has many of the main rivers running through it, which China can use.

How can they resolve this?

China has been putting forth effort with Tibet's government in exile, but these conferences seem to give no hope. The Dalai Lama wants to spread peace and have the miscommunication and violence end and for Tibet to be autonomous.

Will they ever be happy and communicate? We don't know.
