Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!! Each and everyday I am beyond thankful for the amazing work you do for our students and the entire school community. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

I hope that you all enjoyed a nice weekend. I would like to send a special thank you to the third and fourth grade teachers for your excellent job administering the PARCC ELA test last week. Everything went very smoothly and the students all seemed to work their hardest.

*WHES PTO Meeting at 6:30 in the WHES Media Center.


*WHES PTO is providing a special lunch to say "Thank You" to all of our staff!

*PARCC Math testing for grades 3 and 4 (Session 1)

*IEP Team Meeting Day

*Yoga for Relaxation: Lisa Sherman will teach a yoga class for anyone interested. 2:50-4:00pm in the gymnasium.

*Roger Williams Zoomobile to visit our K classes.

Important events, deadlines, etc...

*Teacher Assistants and all classified staff: Your evaluations are complete for this school year. I will schedule a meeting with you to discuss the evaluation during this past week and this coming week. Please check your email for a calendar invitation from me to review your evaluation.

*PARCC testing for grades 3 and 4: Math (May 3rd-6th) The specialist schedules has several changes for during the testing times. Please review the schedule here: https://docs.google.com/a/westwarwickpublicschools.com/document/d/1xnxvYj76-y48TtxJeEgssnfCYIuwbBV5nmxKhc7jxt4/edit?usp=sharing

*Next WHES SIT meeting will take place on May 4th at 2:45pm in the Media Center.

*1st grade field trip to Casey Farm will be on Friday, May 6th.

*The Roger Williams Zoo Mobile will be visiting our K classes on May 3rd and May 5th.

*The 2nd grade will be taking a Field Trip to the Roger Williams Zoo on Friday, May 13th.

*The next RTI meeting will be held on May 11th at 8:10am. At this time we are not accepting new RTI referrals. The team will be working on a survey to gain feedback from the entire school community regarding the RTI process and moving forward for next year.

*The next WWPS School Committee meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 10th at 6:30pm in the Deering Middle School Media Center.

*NECAP science testing for grade 4 students will take place between May 17th-19th. There are changes to the lunch times and some specialist periods. *Our Final Math Wizards Ceremony will be held on May 16th at 8:30am in the gymnasium.

*WHES Spring Choral Concert will be held on May 17th from 6:00-8:00pm. Mrs. Mang will be sharing details for this event shortly.

*Our Next BLC meeting will be held on TUESDAY, May 24th from 2:45-3:15pm. Details for this meeting to follow. (This meeting was changed from the Monday to allow all to attend the Reading PD offered on Monday.)

*Kindergarten Class Graduations will be held during the week of June 6th on Tuesday-Friday in the Cafeteria from 9:15-10:15am.

*4th Grade will hold their own field day on Thursday, June 9th. (Raindate June 16th)

*Grades K-3 will have a field day on Wednesday, June 15th. (Raindate June 17th)

*End of Year Awards Celebration will be held on Monday, June 13th from 8:30-9:30am. Teachers will be asked to nominate students for awards towards the end of May.

***Help Wanted***

*Please remind your students (2nd-4th grade) that they are not to use the side or back stairwells without an adult. If a special situation arises please notify the office.

*School Improvement Team: Please consider joining the SIT team or a SIT subcommittee. This is your school and your input is critical!
