Celebrating Diwali
Students learned about Diwali at Half Day. Diwali, celebrated Thursday, Nov. 4, is a very important holiday and marks the start of an auspicious new year. Lights outside homes symbolize the inner light that protects individuals from spiritual darkness. Diwali is celebrated by lighting Diyas (clay lamps), creating beautiful rangoli sand art, enjoying fireworks, wearing new clothes, and eating special foods. Students replicated the rangoli with chalk art.
To see the rangoli chalk art please visit the school's Facebook page or review the pictures in Google Docs.

District 103 News
Lunch Program Update
If you wish to continue to use our food provider, Quest, for your child’s lunch, you do not need to do anything. No update is required. We will continue to offer meals to your child as we have during the first trimester. Daniel Wright students select their meals each week, so there is no need to make any changes to their selection process.
If you would like to opt-in or opt-out of the program, or change the meals being offered to your Sprague or Half Day child, please complete the “Lunch Opt-In Form” in your Unified Classroom account by Thursday, Nov. 18, at 12:00 p.m. If you need help accessing the forms, please review this instructional video. We will institute any changes after Thanksgiving break on Monday, Nov. 29. For more about the lunch program this year, please read the news bulletin. Lunch menus can be found on our website.
