Kruse honors our Vets through art
Thank you to all of the men and woman that have served our country.
The tree is up and decorated!
Every year the Giving Tree program helps around 30 Kruse families who need a little additional help during the holidays. The Giving Tree is now on view in the school lobby by the Media Center. Thank you to all the families who have already supported the program by checking out a tag! If you have not yet had a chance to participate, please consider stopping by the Giving Tree to check out a donation tag. Choose any level of contribution that fits your budget—from a $10 gas card to tags for clothing, toys, or grocery cards. Please return your unwrapped gifts to the school by Friday, December 6. And, mark your calendars for our Wrap Night party. All Kruse families are invited to help wrap presents on Wednesday, December 11 at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. This event is a great way to teach our children generosity and kindness during the holiday season. We hope you can join us! For more information, or to find out how you can help, contact Julia Modest, Giving Tree Coordinator, at juliamodest@gmail.com.
November Volunteer Highlight
She likes being involved with the PTO because she likes supporting the school and helping build a great community for Kruse families.
Her family's favorite holiday tradition is decorating the tree. "We go as a family to select the tree and hang decorations together. Each ornament tells a different family story and it's a fun time to hang them."
Thanks Julia for all your hard work and time given to our school!
Book fair Success
What an amazing Fall Book Fair we had! Our goal was to have $8,750 in sales but we surpassed that with about $9,300. We receive 55% back in the form of Scholastic Dollars during the Fall Fair. So that meant we were able to give each classroom $166 to spend on books, give the library over $300, and support the Golden Ticket program. Speaking of, All For Books raised a record amount of $200 to support our Golden Ticket program.
Thank you to all the wonderful volunteers that helped and a big thank you to Charlene Olms for putting together and running this amazing event. And thank you to all the students and families that came and supported Kruse through their purchases!
Keep clipping and scanning those Box Tops!
The PTO Thanks You
What does it mean to volunteer with the PTO?
When someone mentions PTO what do you think of? Too much work? Too much time commitment? Christina Applegate in Bad Moms? Watch the movie clip below, it's funny but not even close to what our school PTO looks like.
The Kruse PTO has a wonderful group of talented people.
I have found it amazing what the people that are part of our PTO do. Just to name a few, we have a lawyer (or two), a PhD, athletes, a marketing specialist, a dental hygienists and one or two studying for advanced degrees.
Do you have time to help with the PTO? Sadly we have seen a decline in recent years with volunteering in the PTO and across the school. We welcome new members to help keep our organization strong and thriving.
Being involved in the PTO doesn't have to be a huge time commitment. It can look like helping with one event or it can be taking on a board position or committee. You get to choose your time and commitment level that's what's so great about volunteering. Plus, you can get to know other Kruse families, make new friends, and help build the Kruse community!
