Weekly Hook
Mar 30-Apr 3, 2020
A Week into this Journey...
Have you ever heard the idiom "building the plane while flying it?" I feel like that is exactly what we are doing. Or maybe for us Pirates it's better to say we are building the ship as we sail it. Either way, I know that we are figuring this out as we go while still moving at a fast pace to keep up with everything. I am willing to bet that none of your college courses taught you how to teach through a pandemic/national emergency. However, I can say you all are doing beautifully! With little to no time to prepare you all have shifted to e-learning. You are finding neat ways to meet the needs of our students right now, not just academically, but emotionally as well.
I know we all miss our students just as they miss us. I also know that the relationships that you have built with them will sustain as we navigate through this time. You all have stepped up and made connecting to your students a priority. You all have mastered google hangouts, tried new approaches and have gone above and beyond to make this all as normal as possible.
I have enjoyed seeing you online. Just as I miss our students, I miss you all! I've loved popping into the various google hangouts and seeing our students. They always seem so happy to see us! You are all doing amazing things and I'm proud of y'all. I know this has been stressful. Please take care of yourself. Find ways to destress and relax.
Again, this week the building will be open each day from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM to answer phones and take care of any other needs. No face-to-face visitors will be allowed into schools. If you need to access the building please contact me or Mrs. Lewis to arrange a time. Central Services Office will be open each day from 8:00AM to 4:30PM and no face-to-face visitors will be allowed. Know that we are all just a phone call, text or email away

We Need Your Help!
We will still be providing students with a nutritious lunch and breakfast daily. We need your help to pass out lunches at school, but more importantly on our delivery routes from 10:30AM to 1:00PM. We need two people per bus each day. This is a great way for you to see your students and for them to see you! Please click here to sign up to help deliver meals to our students.
UPDATE: Thank you to all who have signed up to help! Most of the PCMS/PCHS bus spots are filled. There are still several DES bus spots available. Keep in mind a lot of our students live in DeLisle. These buses are not just for DES students.
