8th grade color guards show our newest color guards how to care for the school flag
Dear ICS families,
Can you believe we are nearing the end of the 2022-2023 school year? I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the progress we have shared together and share some important updates and reminders. Next week is a BIG week at ICS as we celebrate the 8th graders and wish them well Wednesday evening at their graduation!
First and foremost, I would like to express my deepest gratitude for your continued support and partnership in providing a faith-filled and enriching education for our students. The commitment and involvement of our parents and guardians have truly made an amazing impact on our school community. Your involvement truly makes a difference in your child's life but also the lives of others.
Throughout this academic year, we have witnessed the growth and development of all our students from our Little Lambs all the way up to our 8th graders. There has been evidence time and again of all the ways they have grown academically, and spiritually. Our students, with your guidance from home have embraced the values of compassion, integrity, and love that are at the core of our Catholic education. Their accomplishments, both big and little, prove that our students are joyful leaners and they have strong bonds with our exceptional faculty and staff. Positive relationships inspire growth and development.
As we approach the final weeks of school, here are some important announcements and reminders:
1. Our Home School Association Committee and Development Committee worked hard this year to achieve aggressive financial goals to benefit our students and teaching staff. Together their efforts were used to support curriculum advancements, purchase additional teaching materials, influence technology efforts, improve teacher salaries, provide tuition angel assistance for families in need, and lastly assist in enhancing the operations of our school buildings. I applaud all their time and effort! Thank you!
2. We have achieved 2 of the 3 Flags offered by the Eco Schools program. We proudly look forward to displaying the Silver and Bronze flags before the end of the school year. Technically, we will achieve the Green flag just as school ends this year. However, we have decided to kick off the new school year with a Green Flag Celebration. In addition to the flags, we also celebrate becoming a Certified Schoolyard Habitat! I will send more details about this achievement next week. We are waiting for the certificate!

MR. Bissonette, you are our hero!
Mr. Bissonette, Gabby's dad, come to the rescue. At first we thought our 4th grade students would be able to work along side Mr. Bissonette, but the ground was too hard and rocky. Not a problem for Mr. B, he went to plan B. Early Saturday morning, Mr. B was able to come back with a rented machine to dig the trench from the school building to the garden. WOW! Monday morning the hose was installed the trench was filled in, and the water was working! He did not stop there. Mr. B then blessed us by installing 4 water spigots, 2 on each side of the garden. We now have a way to water all our plants and keep our bird baths filled! Take a look at the photos below
