Morning Meeting
Reading
This week our new words this week are: has and play
We will be focusing on the long vowel i (when "i" says it's name)
Our story is "Library Lion."
This book is a fantasy. Why would this book be considered fantasy?
This week we will be focusing on Cause and Effect. When something happens it can cause something else to happen.
Below you will find some links to listen to the story sight word songs and long vowel songs.
Sight Word Balloon Toss
Write the sight words that you are studying on the balloon
Hit the balloon back and forth.
When you get the balloon, catch it and read the word closet to you
Here are some examples of letters that make each of the long vowels

Adding and Subtracting
REMEMBER:
Use Uno Cards for Addition War
In this kindergarten math game twist, players each flip 2 cards.
They use counting blocks or any other item to represent the numbers and count on or add to find the sum.
The largest sum wins the hand and play continues.
Cupcake Addition
Have your child solve the equation and out the total number of pom poms or whatever you can find (paperclips, Legos, chocolate chips, etc.)
Subtraction Bowling
Have your child roll a ball towards the materials that are standing up and write down the subtraction problem on a piece of paper. For example, 10-2=8 as seen above
Play dough smash!
Write subtraction problems on a piece of paper for your child (find a list below).
Have your child make 15 balls of play dough. Turn the subtraction problems over so your child will not be able to see the problem.
Have them solve the problem to see how many are left(see example above, have child put 5 balls in front of him/her. Smash 4 balls.)
9-2, 7-4, 8-2, 5-3, 4-2, 6-5, 2-1, 3-2, 9-5, 8-3 (challenge your child by making the subtraction problems harder!)
