Important Reminders / General Info
- I am at CO Monday til noon.
- If you go outside for an extra recess or lesson- you need to take a walkie-talkie (see Joe) and inform the security desk and office. Thank you.
- Newtown Police Officers visit often but usually hang in lobby. They have asked to stroll the building which I have approved. No cause for alarm if you see them walking around or chatting with kids.
- Drones have been spotted flying over the Reed playground. We have been instructed to call the non-emergency police dispatch number if you see one (203) 426-5841 and look for any identifying markings or numbers. Notify Jenna and me as well. See me with any questions.
STAFFING NEWS
- Deb Pond suffers from extreme migraines and has been hit hard. Per her doctor's recommendation, she needs to stay home this week to rest (NOT easy for Deb). Please join me in sending positive energy and prayers her way.
- Charley Amblo is a new paraeducator joining our staff. He is a parent of a 3rd grader and has recently been working at Reed to rave reviews. He will be working in Grade 1. Please join me in welcoming Charlie to the Family.
Winter NWEA Testing Information
Although Jenna, Patti, Amy, and Sue DePra may be available to assist with NWEA testing, this responsibility falls with the classroom teacher and off site proctors. Please know what you are expected to do. Review all materials and ask questions in advance of testing. Preparation eliminates most irregularities and issues. Thank You~
Important Supervision Updates
As per our Faculty Meeting Discussion, we are moving some para assignments around to best support the needs of students and classrooms. This impacts us all as to gain in one area we need to reduce in another. This will remain fluid. Thank you to everyone for their flexibility, collaboration and professionalism.
- I am interviewing tomorrow for a lunch/recess para. This should help reduce some supervisory duties. More details to come.
- The 3 kindergarten paras (Deb B, Jen B & Marianne G) are returning to K classes for the afternoon. This will affect some SRBI support.
- Sue DePra will be pulled from the computer lab to assist with reading and supervisory support. We are mainly looking at times no classes are in there. There is some impact but not too much. If your support time is affected you may see Sue to reschedule.
- Christine Russell is also being utilized outside of the library with Sara's support.
As these changes also affected supervisory duty, Jenna has created new schedules:

- Click for Revised Recess Supervisory Schedule
This has truly been a team effort, Thank you all.
