SBAC Coming for 11th Graders
Each year, 11th grade high school students in Oregon participate in statewide assessments in English language arts (ELA), math, and science. At Lakeridge, our assessments will start shortly after spring break. We will be testing all 11th grade students. Students will be testing on Chromebooks. ELA will happen in English classes the weeks of 3/30-4/11. Math will be assessed 4/19-20. Science testing will take place as well-- dates TBD.
State law also requires us to inform you that a form is available from the Oregon Department of Education that allows you to opt your child out of the Math and ELA Assessments. Should you wish to opt out your child, fill out the form and submit it to the main office at Lakeridge - attention Lois Moll or email it back to molll@loswego.k12.or.us. Click here to access the form.
To opt out of the Science Assessment, please contact the school in writing with that request or add Science to the signed form when you turn it in. If you choose to opt out of the test, your student will be spending the testing time working on completing state work samples (another way to measure whether they’ve met the benchmark in ELA/ Math/ Science).
Parent and Students in the 11th grade, please check your emails for additional information.
