EVA Newsletter
March 2023
From the Principal
EVA Families,
Thank you all for your continued partnership and support of EVA. We have started the transition meetings with families for next year. If you still need to do so, please sign up for a time to meet with us to discuss your options for next year. We want to make sure you have all the information you need to support your student for next school year.
We continue to focus on student attendance. Even though we are remote, the exact attendance expectations as brick and motor do apply. Students must be on time, with cameras on, and present in their zoom classrooms. Middle School daily attendance averages 86% of our students in class, and Elementary averages 96%. Please encourage your students to make their learning a priority. There are a few ways you can help. Help students set goals and reminders in their calendars. Set the alarm for a responsible time to get ready to attend. Every little bit helps.
The month of March is Women’s History Month. During morning announcements and instruction, students will begin to reflect on the often-overlooked contributions of women throughout history. Please encourage your students to share what they have learned and heard.
I look forward to the continued support from our families. We can only be as successful with all of you.
Go Dragons!
Rich Middaugh, Principal
From the Counselor
March is registration month for our 5th – 8th grade students. Mr. Schilaty is working with students in 5th through 8th grade once a week about the transition and registration process. Parent involvement is vital in helping students choose classes for next year.
What parents can do to help:
- Talk with your student about what classes they would like to take
- Visit the specific website for your students transition that includes registration information:
- 5th to 6th grade transition: https://www.everettsd.org/Page/40658
- 6th to 7th grade transition: https://www.everettsd.org/Page/40733
- 7th to 8th grade transition: https://www.everettsd.org/Page/40736
- 8th to 9th grade transition: https://www.everettsd.org/Page/40525
- For 8th grade parents who plan for their student to attend Cascade, Everett or Jackson in person let Mr. Schilaty know what day you would like to have your high school transition meeting. This link has the details: https://www.everettsd.org/Page/40525
All students in grade 5-8 will be entering the class requests into our Home Access Center or Navaince, for 8th graders, by the end of the month.
If you have questions about the registration process you can reach out to Mr. Schilaty, jschilaty@everettsd.org or 425-385-4388.
