A Message from Marcie
Happy Friday, South Park!
By now, hopefully, you have seen the email from Mike Simeck that the daily health certification for students and staff will be ending effective on Monday. If your child is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, please call or email Nora Moskos (nbrennan@dps109.org) in the morning and await further guidance before sending your child to school.
Next week, we look forward to hosting the K-2 Art Fair. While enjoying the children’s beautiful work displayed at our school, we ask you to talk to your child about the process involved in the creation of their artwork. Presenting and talking about the work students have created is an essential part of the artistic process. We invite you to admire the artistic process/habits behind the work as you view the final results that hang in the halls. The resulting work you will see is an authentic piece of your child's artistic growth, individual choice, and abilities. While a child's work might look different than their peers, the process, trials, and errors involved taught them to think creatively and consider multiple options to problem-solve independently. These skills are extremely important for a student's future success in school and careers.
We hope that our K-2 families will be able to join us and look forward to celebrating all of the amazing things your child has learned throughout the year. This is a great opportunity to celebrate the successes and recognize the pride of our young artists!
Enjoy the weekend!

K-2 Art Show Details for Thursday, March 10th
Next Thursday we will have our Art Show for grades k-2.
You are invited to come to South Park and walk through our main hallways to see your child's artwork on display. The school will be open from 6-7 pm. Your child's classroom will not be open to visitors during this time.
To best allow for social distancing, we're asking that you adhere to the following timeline for your visit:
Last Names A-F 6-6:15
Last Names G-O 6:20-6:35
Last Names P-Z 6:40- 6:55
We want to avoid large crowds in our hallway. Please plan to spend a few minutes admiring masterpieces and taking photos. We then ask that you exit the building to allow for a smooth flow of visitors.
