Appeal to Authority
Definitions
A form of logical fallacy in which information is presented by a person of authority in a way that makes a strong argument in order to establish statistics.
Examples
An appeal to authority occurs when someone claims to be an expert on a subject, so therefore, what they are saying is assumed to be true.
This can happen when someone is giving advice to someone else and that person chooses to believe them simply because someone is offering them help, which places them in a position of authority.
