Mental Health Awareness Month Spirit Week

This year, PWCS will recognize May as Mental Health Awareness Month in partnership with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). This year's theme for Mental Health Awareness Month is "You Are Not Alone." To help break the stigma and bring awareness to mental health in children and adults, Signal Hill Elementary will be doing a spirit week this week! In addition to our spirit week, there will be resources and activities on each grade levels counseling canvas page :)

If your student(s) are in need of anything or are wanting to talk to the school counselors, please feel free to send us an email. We can meet in person or virtually depending on where your students are that day!

Student Devices

REMINDER - We will be collecting student devices in June! Please see the pictures below to help you identify the appropriate device and accessories for a quick and easy return!

Device Loan Agreements

As a reminder, the PWCS Parent-Teacher Handbook and Prince William County's Responsible Use Policy Regulation 295-1 have been included in the newsletter for your review. Please take a few moments to review and familiarize yourself with these two documents.

A few items we would like to emphasize are as follows:

(1) Student devices and access to the internet is for instructional purposes only and are not to be used for recreational activities.

(2) Once the student device is returned, all personal information or data that the student stored on the device will no longer be accessible.

(3) Parent/Guardian will reimburse Prince William County Schools (via Signal Hill Elementary School) for the cost of repairs and/or replacement should the student device be lost, stolen or damaged. The cost incurred will not exceed the original cost of the device and it's accessories. Parent/student agrees to contact the school within 5 days so that appropriate procedures can be put into action to ensure replacement. If a device is lost or stolen and the replacement cost places a financial hardship, the parent/guardian must contact the school to determine a solution to this difficulty.
