World War II started on September 1, 1939 when Hitler and his army invaded Poland. Two days after the invade, France and Britain declared war on Hitler which was the start of WWII.

The German army held camps for Jews and other people. Their main focus was on the Jews. The camps were like prison for the people. They could cut off there hair and make them work. They would break families apart and take their belongings away. If the people we weak or useless, they would put them in a gas chamber and burn them.
