Please join for the first of this year's Parent Wellness Consortium Series, hosted by Summit.

Grief and Loss During the COVID-19 Pandemic, a live webinar presented by Lisa Athan, Executive Director of Grief Speaks.

She will present on losses and transitions as it pertains to the COVID-19 pandemic. The last several months have been a huge challenge, with many of our community members facing losses. Not just the loss of a loved one, but the loss of our routines, freedom, independence, activities, friendships, end of year and beginning of year celebrations, vacations and more.

Many of us are looking for ways to manage our loss and grief, as well as supporting our students, our kids. During the event, you will gain an understanding of the grief warning signs in youth, how to effectively communicate with our teens, and learn about healthy coping tools and strategies to support our teens. This program is being offered through the Student Assistance Counselors (SAC) of Summit, Chatham, Millburn, Berkeley Heights, and New Providence Consortium. A group committed to offering joint programs to parents that focus on student needs in our communities. Each district will host a forum as part of the Parent Wellness Series with all community members invited to participate.

But now, in the time of COVID-19, funding from the MEF is for more than enrichment and improvement; it is essential. We must ensure that our students’ education in any format meets the high standards of “Millburn Excellence.”

Our community must work together to provide as robust an education for our children as possible. Please visit www.millburnedfoundation.org to donate. The need is dire, and the time is now. Be assured that any contribution will help make this year as positive as it can possibly be for our children and continue the progress we’ve made to 21st century learning.
