Brain Cancer Awareness Day!!!
Please wear the color GREY on Thursday, January 23 to bring awareness to this type of cancer. If you would like, you can also bring in one dollar (or more) to donate to the National Brain Tumor Society. Your funds will go directly to the Society on behalf of the Sherlock and Hoover families who are volunteers for the local committee and also Team Captains in the upcoming race on March 21st, 2020.
This is a very important cause to our Titan community as several of our families have been or are affected by this terrible disease. Let’s wear GREY to raise awareness and show our support!
At home you can also upload pictures of you or your family wearing GREY and post to our school website or our Twitter Account @tegacaytitans

Information on The National Brain Tumor Society (NBTS):
The National Brain Tumor Society (NBTS) is the largest non-profit organization dedicated to the brain tumor community in the United States. It was formed in 2008 by the merger of the National Brain Tumor Foundation and the Brain Tumor Society. Both organizations had been formed in the 1980s by parents and other individuals who wanted to increase both research funding and access to resources specific to brain tumors.
Brain tumors are the most common solid tumors affecting children and adolescents, with close to 5,000 children diagnosed each year.
Because of their location, some pediatric brain tumors and their required treatments can cause significant long-term impairment to intellectual and neurological function.
Some forms of brain cancer can be life-threatening
Today, nearly 700,000 Americans are living with a brain tumor. And, many more will be diagnosed each year. Brain tumors are deadly, and can strike men, women, and children at any time. Unite with us in the fight against brain tumors, and take part in one of our many events nationwide – search for an event near you to register today!
All funds raised allow the National Brain Tumor Society to advance strategic research and public policy to improve the availability of new and better treatments, and fuel the discovery of a cure. Learn more about the National Brain Tumor Society.
Your participation and support is sincerely appreciated by all those affected by brain tumors, and vital to our mission for a cure.
The local Carolina race is March 21st, 2020.
