What's Wrong, Grandma?
Elderly Depression
Seniors
Depression and loneliness are taking the lives of many of the senior citizens in places all over the country. Don't let your parents or grandparents be in that group. Visit them as often as possible. Our senior citizens are our best generation.
Causes
Depression is a mood disorder that comes from a lack of visitors which leads to loneliness. Depression is responsible for 20% of suicidal deaths in the United States. A depressed person has double the risk for cardiac disease. But, a non-depressed person has a better chance of recovering from a heart attack.
Statics
About 20% of elderly deaths are suicidal because of depression. As many as 15% of American elders live and die alone. How could people leave their elderly parents alone with no one to care for them?
