Applications are available at our district office, located at 1724 Graham Avenue and through this newsletter, which is available on our website (www.vcs.k12.nc.us). Completed applications must be turned in to district office before the close of business on February 28. Vance Virtual Village Academy and Vance County Early College High School have online applications linked below. All 5 schools have paper applications available and linked below.
About the Schools
EM Rollins STEAM Academy
EM Rollins STEAM Academy serves students in Pre-K through 5th grades. The school, located at 1600 S. Garnett Street, focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM) and follows a modified year-round calendar. Students are able to have an opportunity to have an enhanced focus on STEAM activities embedded in all of their classes. All students accepted to EM Rollins STEAM Academy are able to receive transportation provided by Vance County Schools.
STEM Early High School
STEM Early High serves students in grades 6-8. The focus is Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. The school is located at the Center for Innovation (219 Charles Street), where they have their own zSpace lab and enhanced access to the state-of-the-art audio and video labs. Students are able to earn high school credits while in middle school. STEM operates on the traditional calendar. Students are able to participate in Jaguar athletics on the campus of Vance County Middle School. Transportation is provided for all students in Vance County who are accepted to attend STEM Early High. Applications are currently being taken for rising 6th graders only.
Vance Virtual Village Academy
Vance Virtual Village Academy (V3A) serves students in grades K-12 through a virtual platform. Students experience anywhere, anytime learning that allows them to achieve success in a space beyond the school. V3A is located at the Center for Innovation (219 Charles Street). Students still report to the school for testing and have opportunities for face-to-face engagement throughout the year. The school operates on the traditional calendar and eligible students are able to participate in Jaguar (grades 6-8) and Viper (grades 9-12) athletics.
Advance Academy
Advance Academy (AA) serves students in grades 6-12, providing a flex schedule to meet the varying needs of the students. AA follows the traditional calendar and is located at the Center for Innovation (219 Charles Street). Eligible students in grades 6-8 are able to participate in Jaguar athletics and those in grades 9-12 in Viper athletics. Vance County Schools provides transportation during all of the flex times to meet the needs of students.
Vance County Early College High School
Vance County Early College High School (VCECHS) serves students beginning in 9th grade. Students are afforded opportunities to earn their high school diploma and an Associate in Arts and/or Associate in Science degree at the same time. Students attend VCECHS for five years, serving students in the traditional high school grades (9-12) plus one additional year known as year 13 or Super Senior! This allows students to get a step ahead in college classes at no cost to the families as they get the first two years of college completed. VCECHS is based on the campus of Vance Granville Community College and is on the Early Start calendar. Students are able to participate in Viper athletic programs. School transportation is provided for all students in Vance County who are accepted to attend VCECHS. Applications are currently being taken for rising 9th graders only.

Innovative Schools Night
Innovative Schools Night will allow families to come anytime between 4:30-6:30pm to learn more about each of the schools, meet the principals, ask questions and pick up applications.
