Cougar "Prints"
Week of November 5
PD Tomorrow
We plan to finish by 12:15pm at the latest as we have a full morning of PD planned related to communication and STEM.
BRING HEADPHONES
Update from District Level Safety Audit
1. Only one classroom door was left unlocked on the entire campus.
2. Mainly, the common areas had doors unlocked - remember, all doors must be locked at all times - no exception. We are removing the door to the kitchenette in the K-2 building - this is always open anyway and we have unplugged the stove, which can be still used when needed. Additionally, we are placing work orders for more keys to be delivered for Conference Room access - this door must always remain locked.
3. The Makerspace must always remain locked but was left open and unlocked. Students should not be sent to this location to retrieve anything. If you access this room, you must lock it behind you.
Holiday Season is Upon Us - Cycles Off Next Week
As school people, one of the very best things we provide our students with, besides love and support, is consistency. We have done a great job of "hitting the ground running" this first nine weeks and I know the second nine weeks will be no different. I am in no way saying that we cannot celebrate anything, just the types of integration within our classroom need to be strategic, structured, and connected to what students are to learn. As we balance this purposefulness, let's have some fun and continue to engage our learners in well-rounded activities that stress the importance of perspective.
Teacher Web Pages & Bulletin Boards - Cycles Off Next Week
I know you all are tremendously busy, but this is a critical tool used to communicate with parents, but also for our Program Choice timeline. Many of the parents I speak to about their interest in joining Coltrane-Webb STEM reference our webpage. They search their child's grade level and putting our best foot forward on each webpage is vital to getting the needed applications to keep our enrollment up to current levels.
Further, if you don't have anything in a tab, I would suggest deleting it if it is not being used. Some have the weekly homework tab as well. A few are keeping up with this, while some aren't. I greatly appreciate the attempt to provide weekly reminders, but if this is something you are doing and not keeping up, please evaluate how you would like to continue to approach this tab.
If you need any help at all, please let us know. Lance and Elana are always available to support cleaning it up. If you've always hoped for a more vibrant webpage presence, I know they would be thrilled to show you simple steps to reach that goal.
Additionally, we still have some bulletin boards that appear to be from the beginning of school. Please take a look at your board to see if it needs updating.
