MLK Parent Newsletter

September 13, 2020

Greetings MLK Families,

Here a few updates and reminders for the week:

  • If your child's teacher notified you or your student to pick up materials please stop by beginning Monday, September 14th from 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Please keep in mind not all teachers will have items out; this is only if the teacher notified you.
  • Constitution Day is Thursday, September 17th, 2020. Our school will commemorate this day by having students participate in a special lesson on the importance of the Constitution and of being a good citizen.
  • For this week's MVP, our trait is "Respect". Encourage your child to participate every day this week so they can be in the running to be the MVP of the week. If your child is selected as the week's MVP the pick up of prizes is Wednesdays from 12-2.
  • School Site Council (SSC) and English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) Ballots were mailed home, please vote for an SSC and ELAC representative for MLK.

  • Dress up Days: Mondays-School Pride Day (Wear Purple). Next Friday 9/18/20 will be Jersey Day.

  • Kindergarten Parents: I included a quick HESD video on ways to support your child with counting and sorting.
  • The Mobile Family Healthcare Network Clinic will be at MLK on 9/16/20, please call 559-909-4908 to schedule an appointment.

Have a great week!
