BOGO Book Fair & State Testing

This week we have our BOGO Book Fair happening! Students can come during their recess to shop for books if they have money in hand or in their Scholastic eWallet. Our Booster Club has provided teachers will Scholastic bucks to give to students who may not have funds and a few parents have also donated funds so all kids can walk away with new books - what an amazing community we have that cares for each other and takes care of our kids!

Families can come shop after school until 3:00 pm each day - please enter and exit through the recess library door. The book fair will also be available on Tuesday and Thursday night from 5:30-7:30 pm.

Last week our 5th graders worked on the science state test and this week our 3rd-6th graders will be working on the English Language Arts (ELA) state tests. There are two parts to this - the computer-adaptive test (CAT) and the performance task (PT). The CAT was significantly reduced this year.

Please support your students with healthy testing habits:

  • Healthy breakfast and lunch
  • Getting plenty of rest/going to bed on time the night before
  • Lots of encouragement to do their best work
  • Remind students that these tests do not affect their grades or if they will advance to the next grade level. We use them at school to prepare instruction!

At school we are cheering them on and providing snacks and break spaces when needed.

Breakfast & Lunch Charity Account

Did you know we have a breakfast and lunch charity account for Patterson students and families? This account is used if a child needs an additional lunch or breakfast (food disparity), to teach students self-management skills (how to eat specific foods) and to pay off negative balances when families don't have the means to.

If you would like to donate to our account, please do the following:

You can also write a check to Patterson Elementary School and write "Feed it Forward" in the memo line.
