Thirty-One Gives
DID YOU KNOW?
A girl's self-esteem peaks at age 9?
Only 2% of women describe themselves as beautiful?
62% of girls are insecure about themselves?
Less than 7% of national philanthropic dollars are for women and girls?
We can do better!
I am very proud of the philanthropic arm of Thirty-One, Thirty-One Gives. We have a passion for serving and supporting girls, women and families. We believe strong, confident girls will grow up to become strong, compassionate women, who will be the driving force behind strong, healthy families and communities. Our mission is to celebrate others for who they are, giving them the support and self-esteem needed to lead purposeful, thriving lives. When we all work together and give a little piece of our heart, we can make a huge difference.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and I’d like to share a story.
On July 14, 2014, a single, senseless, cowardly act of violence took the life of a beautiful, intelligent 19 year old college student with a bright future ahead of her. MacKenzie Madden, a student at Utah State and the daughter of my oldest and one of my dearest friends, was murdered at the hands of a boy she briefly dated. The murderer also killed Kenzie’s friend, John, before killing himself. By definition this is a case of domestic violence.
Soon after her death, Kenzie’s mom (Carrie Madden Dennison) and I started working together looking for a way to make a positive difference out of this tragic, senseless, cowardly act of violence. Together we have been able to support programs in California and Utah through our annual Tote Drives. Our focus is to raise awareness that victims of Domestic Violence don't match a stereotype and to keep Kenzie's memory alive by supporting and celebrating women who take that courageous step to leave. Each donated bag is tagged with words to inspire and a picture of Kenzie.
I am reaching out to you because I want to invite you to take a stand against domestic violence and support our efforts. When a woman arrives at a shelter, she often has nothing. A woman arriving at the shelters we support will be given a Thirty-One Gifts Essential Tote filled with personal necessity items and resources for the help she needs to get on her feet. Often, this bag is the only thing that’s hers.
A $20 donation provides a bag for a woman entering a Domestic Violence shelter. Please comment, text, call or private message Me or Carrie Madden Dennison if you would like to support our efforts. Together we can take a stand and make a difference.
