The Salt March
Gandhi and his followers were tired of the British tax on salt. So they decided to take back what was theirs, they marched to the Indian ocean and boiled the sand, to make salt. The British did not like what the Indians were doing, because they were losing 25 million dollars a year. Anybody that decided to not pay the taxes on the British salt would be beaten and jailed. So since the British where taxing the Indians they got mad and decided to take actions into there own hands decided to boil water for the salt. The raid on the salt march was when the British beat 2,770 Indians for not paying the tax on the British salt. Gandhi walked 240 miles through 48 villages and gave speeches to all of them, telling them to join him in the rebellion.
