Updates to Health and Safety Protocols

Please review today’s Head of School eCommuniqué which contains important information about upcoming adjustments to our school’s health and safety protocols. These changes, which go into place on Monday, March 7th, include:

· a move from Level 2 to Level 1 adaptive health and safety protocols;

· updates to mask usage recommendations, in particular masking in PS and MS;

· information about potential future masking requirements; and

· details about required COVID-19 return-to-school testing after spring break.

If you have any questions about the changes to our protocols, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Jacques. Thank you in advance for all that you have done and will do to keep each other safe during the pandemic!

A Love of Literacy

AIS has thoroughly enjoyed our Literacy Week and we will continue showcasing student work for our Gallery Crawl next week. The love of literacy has been all over our school from book covers, puzzles, story time shares, our school-wide read-a-thon, and our awesome Storybook Parade. Great job to all our participants and a big shout out to our Literacy Committee: Ms. Sophie, Ms. Claire B., Ms. Claire C., Ms. Martha, Ms. Sarah, and led by chairs Ms. Prema and Ms. Susan. Thanks for putting on such an amazing week! Make sure to check out many of the classwork here on the Literacy Week Padlet.

Literacy Week Donations from Mr. Jacques

In honor of literacy week and literature from his native region of Alsace, France, Mr. Jacques has donated the following five titles written by famed Alsatian children’s author Tomi Ungerer to the AIS library:

  • La grosse bête de Monsieur Racine
  • Emile
  • Trémolo
  • Maître des Brumes
  • Guillaume l’apprenti sorcier

To learn more about Tomi Ungerer’s inspirations when writing children’s literature, you can watch him explain more about his work in his own words (in English).

Purchase your Gala Tickets & Sponsorships Now!

We are excited to host our Virtual 11th Annual Gala on Saturday, April 2nd, 2022, beginning at 6:30 pm. For those who are new to AIS, our annual gala is, by far, the biggest fundraiser of the year for our school. With your partnership and participation, it brings in $85k-$100k annually to support our unique global education, fostering sustainability and providing essential funds to support your child(ren) and our school community. Our gala program consists of a silent auction, a live auction of student artwork, and a Raise the Paddle portion which directly supports scholarships for our faculty's children to attend AIS.

Even though we will be virtual, we look forward to celebrating with you in fun and interactive ways. Our program will include a mixology lesson, live music, and video highlights of our students in action. Tickets and Sponsorship are on sale here. Make sure to check out all the wonderful sponsor perks. These packages will be distributed the week before our gala and/or delivered to your home the day of the event, so you can enjoy them as you watch, participate, and give during the event. We look forward to "seeing you" at the event and thank you, as always, for your support and participation! Tickets are only on sale until March 20th so thanks for procuring yours soon!

Looking for Silent Auction Items

There are also other ways to help support the event. We are on the lookout and would welcome the following donated items: use of a second/vacation home to offer up to AIS families as a vacation stay in our auction; gift cards to incorporate into other auction bundles; clothing, beauty, home accessories; services from spas, boutiques, other local area establishments; concert, sports, or performance tickets, or anything else you may think may be a hot ticket item. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions for me or the gala committee at or to discuss corporate marketing opportunities further.
