HOLY ROSARY NEWSLETTER
Term4 Week 7 - 27November 2020
WOW! Week 7 has now come and gone and it has been yet another great week here at HR. Mr D’Aloia has been pumping tunes and playing basketball at lunch and we were all entertained by an extremely cool circus show!
Preparation is now in full swing for all our end of year events and while these are going to look a little different this year, I am so glad that we have been able to still run them - in a safe and compliant way, while maintaining lots of fun and excitement too!
Staff are working really hard to ensure a calm, productive, safe and really fun end to the school year for your children. Our End Of Year Concert will be a great opportunity to come together, to relax and to share the year that has been! The songs will not be overly polished, but they will be a lot of fun.
The event times for the concert on the 8th December are:
4.30pm onwards: Parents and children arrive and set-up their picnic on the Senior Oval.
Kindy children to assemble in the Kindy Rooms.
5.30pm: Performance from the Holy Roly Stones Band and the School Choir.
6pm: Kindy through to Year 6 will perform (In that order).
7pm: Congratulations to leaving class and concert close. Carols to play and sing along with...
7.30pm: Pack away.
It has been a huge year but a really great one and I absolutely LOVE this community - kids, families and staff. By now, most of you will have received an email from Ryan Denham, our Board Chair, informing you of my new appointment as Principal of St Bernadette’s in Port Kennedy. As you will appreciate, it was a really difficult decision for me to apply for a new job, however after much deliberation, I felt it was time in my career to consider leading a school community of my own.
I would like to sincerely thank everyone for their support over the past 5 years. You are all amazing people with beautiful, caring, clever, well-rounded, funny, friendly, engaging children. I will miss every single one of them, along with all the parents, staff, parish and wider community.
Have a great weekend and look after each other! I’m going to participate in a 300km bike ride in Margaret River so please wish me and my legs luck!

PASTORAL CARE AND STUDENT WELLBEING NEWS
This year, 3 groups of students have participated in our Seasons for Growth Program. This small group program offered to year 4 students at HR, helps students to acknowledge changes and how they react to them. They learn some incredible strategies and life skills and I reconnect with them each term until they graduate. The groups in turn provide a wonderful support network for each other and form new friendships. You can read more about the program here….
I have loved seeing the growth and learning in our SFG students and am so proud of how they adapted their new found skills to this help them through the year that was 2020. I wish my very first SFG group all the best as they take their skills to high school next year. They will be amazing!!
Anna the Library Elf on the Shelf has joined us this week for our last week of borrowing. It has been wonderful to celebrate the lead up to Christmas with her! There are still about 50 overdue books. If you have been contacted by your child’s teacher, and you can not locate the library book at home, please contact me so we can sort this out before the end of 2020. All lost books must be replaced and I thank you for your support with this. I had our last library session with our beautiful year 6 students and I wish them the very best for high school and beyond! I can’t wait to see what they will do.
