Week one of Remote Learning
I know this week has been challenging for you as we kicked off learning in a way that we never even imagined just 2 weeks ago! Please give yourselves grace as you try to support remote learning at home. You're doing the best that you can and we appreciate it.
I've had a chance to join some Zoom sessions with teachers and students which has been great! I want to give a HUGE Shout Out to our teachers! They are continuing to provide meaningful learning for our students. With only 2 hours of remote learning assignments, you are receiving a significantly pared- down version of what a teacher's instructional day actually looks like. Planning remote lessons and schedules has been one of the most challenging things for our teachers. However; I only wish you could see things from my end. I'm so proud of the work they're doing and hope you are too. The Rockwell teachers are still collaborating and working well into the night as they implement remote learning for their classrooms and for their own children. I am going to ask that you also give teachers grace as they try to respond to you as quickly as they can. Teaching is their job and they love what they do even during the remote learning challenges. As a result, they don't always know how to slow down to take care of themselves, especially now. I'm asking teachers to give themselves an evening cut off time so they can keep themselves healthy, both mentally and emotionally.
Remember that we're all in this together and as I recently heard a colleague say..."We're all chasing grace."

How serving will work:
- Serving will be curb-side pick at the main entry to the building
- Students 18 or younger will be able to come and pick up a meal: which will consist of breakfast and lunch. Adults are not included with these meals.
- Staff will prep and package meals for easy pick-up
- Staff will set up by the front doors and wait for families to pull up
- Staff will collect a headcount of students and walk meals out to cars
- The public will remain outdoors
Each site is staffed in compliance with the current social distance guidelines. During service meal distribution will be staged at the building entrance.
