And the Giving Continues.........
We are so lucky to live in such a Blessed town of those that give back! I know that you are giving every day as well in your classroom. Thank you for all you do to make our LISD students feel confident in their work!

Blessing Bill's BackPacks...AMAZING!
LISD's Sodexo Food Service and Sodexo Facilities gave $1000 to Bill's BackPacks as well. Mr. Bruner states, "this organization is the Real Deal when it comes to helping others." Another huge thank you goes out to Mr. Bruner and Mr. Croyle for writing this grant that 50 out of 114 received. Another unknown fact is that the two Sodexo Organizations also donate $100 in food items to Bill's BackPacks every month. Thank you so much for making a difference!
And LHS raised $1,812.17 for Bill's Backpacks. Teachers purchased jeans passes and each class was rewarded with a long lunch if they raised at least $200. Donations were collected in the library. The sophomore class raised the most money at $263.00.

And around LISD................
DeLuna and DeLuna at LIS
LIS fifth graders in Elizabeth DeLuna's writing class completed their task of writing a fiction story. Students were allowed to choose a topic that interested them, and they were required to have all the elements of a story: a beginning, middle, end, setting, characters, plot, and theme. Most students wrote humor with illustrations similar to Jeff Kenny's Diary of a Whimpy Kid, but there was a good amount of scary stories too. Mrs. DeLuna said that they did well and had fun! Thank you, Mrs. DeLuna, for pushing your students with the hard task of writing.
