Cougar News
Week of 10/09/17 - 10/13/17
Letter from Principal Nelson
Cougars-
This week we had an amazing and spirited Homecoming Week which will be capped off with our first dance of the year. We began the week with a bang as all 1,231 students and staff attended a Pep Rally on Monday. Our kids got to celebrate our student athletes (the key word is student) while soaking in the soothing sounds of our choir, listening to our band perform a cartoon medley, and by enjoying our cheer and dance teams strut their stuff. We love it when our entire campus gets to see the evidence of all the hard work these performers put forth towards their craft and are grateful for the teachers and sponsors who work so closely with them so they may do so. These events are akin to exams for our performers, and we are happy to report they all “aced” it. As did our audience; we had respectful, polite, participation throughout.
Student ID Cards: This Thursday we will be passing out student ID cards to all students. They can use these handy-dandy cards to check out library books, purchase a school lunch, or even receive discounts at participating shops and/or restaurants. We will also be selling lanyards in the Cougar Cage to ensure they do not lose them.
3 day weekend: Don’t forget Monday is a holiday for students and a work day here at school for us teachers. We will be busy planning and prepping so we can continue to provide your student the best middle school education in all of Texas.
As per usual, thanks for allowing us to work with your student. Their success is our success, and you are one of the main reasons we are so successful.
