Planning & Development Newsletter
Volume 2 - Winter Issue - February 2018
Message from Dr. Trenton Hansen
Hello JUSD Staff,
Planning & Development has been off to a good start this year as many phases of our projects have been completed or are nearing completion. Administration staff at Mission Bell Elementary moved into the new administration building and contractors are moving swiftly towards completing the new MPR. The new kindergarten wing at Ina Arbuckle Elementary is complete and serves as a temporary office to the administration staff while construction of the new administration building and additional kinder classes remain under construction. At the start of semester 2, the Innovation Center at Jurupa Valley High School opened up for STEM classes. We began phase II of the Innovation Center at JVHS, starting with interior demolition and haul away. In addition, the interior of the 1000 wing at Rubidoux High School has been demoed in preparation of its renovations.
With all the excitement around the modernizations of our schools and the construction of Del Sol Academy, I would like to thank our Maintenance and Operations Department for their contribution to our facilities. While many staff and students were enjoying the winter recess, our M&O staff worked tirelessly on making repairs, packing and moving classrooms, improving landscape, relocating 3 portables, re-flooring various classrooms, painting buildings, securing perimeter fencing, making electrical upgrades, and installing hydration stations throughout the district…to name a few. The dedication and hard work of our custodial, grounds and maintenance staff is well recognized and greatly appreciated by all.
Everything we do in Planning & Development is a combined effort with many departments and I would like to extend my deepest appreciation for the patience and goodwill shown by JUSD staff and students.
Wishing you all a successful semester 2!
Sincerely,
Dr. Hansen and staff
