St. Finn Barr Weekly Bulletin
Week of March 29th - April 2nd
Dear St. Finn Barr Families,
I pray you had a wonderful Easter and stayed safe and healthy during the break.
We return to school this Monday by welcoming our Cohort A students to campus on Monday, April 12th. Please review the information below so that you are reminded of the Monday dismissal times.
Cohort B will return to campus on Thursday, April 15th.
Cohort groups will be reposted to Beehivey class pages this afternoon.
We welcome some more students to campus in our cohort model and ask that if you traveled outside the state of California over our Easter break, you quarantine for ten days upon your arrival back to the Bay Area. If you have any questions regarding this safety measure, please do not hesitate to contact Ms. Kimble.
If your student(s) is returning to campus for the first time this school year, please be sure to review which cohort they have been assigned to. Students will not be permitted into the classroom if they arrive at school on the wrong cohort day since our cohorts enable students to be in stable cohort groups.
Morning Assembly Topics for the Week
Each week, Ms. Kimble will share the reading for Monday through Friday in this new section of our Weekly Bulletin. We invite you to join the conversation and ask your students their takeaway from each morning assembly's reflection!
Monday: Mary, Jesus' Gift
The Virgin Mary, Mother of God and our Mother... is the gift that Jesus gives to his people... Mary has always been, and will always be, with her children, especially the poor and those most in need.

Tuesday: Jesus Washes our Feet
I think of the Gospel scene where Jesus washes the feet of his disciples at the Last Supper. This was something his disciples found hard to accept. Even Peter refused and told him: "You will never wash my feet" (Jn 13:8)...
We also know in faith that Jesus seeks us out. He wants to heal our wounds, to soothe our feet which hurt from traveling alone, to wash each of us clean of the dust from our journey. He doesn't ask us where we have been. He doesn't question us about what we have done, Rather, he tells us, "Unless I wash your feet, you have no share with me" (Jn 13:8).
Unless I wash your feet, I will not be able to give you the life which the Father always dreamed of, the life for which he created you. Jesus comes to meet us so that he can restore our dignity as children of God. He wants to help us to set our again, to resume our journey, to recover our hope, to restore our faith and trust.

Wednesday: Will You Help Him Carry the Cross?
Today I ask you... Do you want to be like Pilate, who did not have the courage to go against the tide to save Jesus' life and instead washed his hands?
Tell me: Are you one of those who wash their hands, who feign ignorance and look the other way? Or are you like Simon of Cyrene, who helped Jesus to carry that heavy wood, or like Mary and the other women, who were not afraid to accompany Jesus all the way to the end, with love and tenderness?
And you, who do you want to be? Like Pilate? Like Simon? Like Mary? Jesus is looking at you now and is asking you: Do you want to help me carry the cross?

Thursday: He Shares Every Cross
There is no cross, big or small, in our life, which the Lord does not share with us.
-Address, Way of the Cross, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, July 26, 2013
Friday: Learning to Stand at the Cross
The disciples were afraid to question Jesus when he spoke to them about his passion and death. He frightened them; they could not grasp the thought of seeing Jesus suffer on the cross.
We, too, are tempted to flee from our own crosses and those of others, to withdraw from those who suffer...
Let us now lift our gaze to the Virgin Mary, our Mother [and]... ask her to teach us to stand beside the cross of our brothers and sisters who suffer.
-Angelus, September 20, 2015
