SKIPPER NATION

Happy Monday! I hope the weekend treated you well. Thanks to everyone who came out for a basketball game this past weekend. The Skippers appreciate your support!

Today the teachers are here finalizing semester grades and collaborating on some fantastic lessons for students. They are such a dynamic and innovative group of educators and I am sincerely proud to see what they offer our students every week.

I hope you have a great day and a productive week!

ALICE training

Thank you to Sgt. Eric Miller of the Painesville Police Dept for our very informative ALICE training last week. Sgt. Miller is currently assigned to day shift and has held various assignments from Field Training Officer, Street Crimes Supervisor, S.W.A.T. Team member, and Team Leader. Sgt. Miller holds an Associates degree in Criminal Justice through Lakeland Community College and a Bachelors degree in Public Safety Management from Franklin University. We are so fortunate that he was able to share his extensive expertise with our staff. ALICE stands for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate. If you would like to read more about ALICE you can visit our website for details.

National Honor Society

Our newest NHS inductees were "tapped" on Wednesday with a balloon and a rose. They were surprised in class by current NHS members. The ceremony was held on Thursday afternoon. The ceremony was a wonderful way for the school and community to recognize and celebrate these students and their leadership, character, community service, and character. A special thank you to fire chief Bob Lloyd who filled in for our original speaker who fell ill shortly before the induction. Congratulations to the following students: Hannah Babbitt, Hunter Barks, Autumn Bodenstadt, Shy Bodenstadt, Patience Doeing, Mikayla Gladding, Aliisa Haller, Hannah Hulett, Katie Lemr, Brianna Manross, Martin Mendoza, Caitlin Potter, Garett Sadler, Sammy Schuster, Alexis Tanker, Emmit Uhlir.

We thank Mary Javins, Anna Coll, Linda Cope, Amy Hites, and William Luckshaw for their dedication to Fairport Harbor Schools.
