Welcome to your school!
Marnie Heil - K/1 Classroom Teacher
HELLO!!! I’m Ms Marnie Heil and I will be your teacher this upcoming year!! I am so excited for the opportunity to work as partners with you and your child this year at the SD27J Online Academy. It is my belief that together, as a team, we will provide an environment in which your child will flourish and find their potential.
A little about me: I love teaching and I love learning new things! It’s my 19th year teaching and my 9th in SD27J. This year I taught 1st grade virtually - and boy did I love it! My Students and I had a wonderful experience, and accomplished so much. I have also taught 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades and for 7 years I was the instructional coach at Second Creek. I am so excited to be back in the classroom!
With our class being virtual, it is very important to me to build a relationship with my students, students’ families, and to create a safe and welcoming environment for my students. We will be working closely with one another to create learning experiences in which all students are heard, accepted, and validated.
I look forward to working in partnership with you. I am confident that together we can provide the support and encouragement needed to help your child excel. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. My door is always open to you. I am looking forward to a fabulous year!
Jahema Robinson - 2nd Grade Classroom Teacher
Hi, my name is Mrs. Robinson and I am so very happy to be a part of the 27J Online Academy family! I am a native of Colorado and specifically of Adams County. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Early Childhood Education from Metropolitan State College of Denver and a Masters of Arts in Education Administration and Supervision from the University of Phoenix. I am thrilled to say that this fall will be the beginning of my 24th year of teaching primary students and my sixteenth year in District 27J. I love teaching and this coming year will be the beginning of my 21st year of teaching my favorite grade, second grade!
This past year, I was an online 2nd grade teacher for West Ridge Elementary School. Through that experience, my curiosity about online teaching and learning grew into a desire to become an online educator with the new 27J Online Academy. I am intrigued and fascinated by the opportunities that online teaching and learning can and will bring to both my students and myself. I can’t wait to see all of the amazing things that we will do together!
When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my caring husband, two great children, and one sweet granddaughter. I love the beach/ocean with all of my soul, reading (especially mystery/thriller books), playing pool, bowling when I am able, swimming, and being outside in our yard.
I am so excited to be going on this new journey with you this year! Welcome to second grade at the 27J Online Academy!

Noria Gharibyar - 4th Grade Classroom Teacher
Hello, my name is Noria Gharibyar and I am very excited to be a part of the 27J Online Academy. My philosophy is that students who are engaged in the learning process motivate them to practice higher-level critical thinking skills and promote better learning experiences. This is my fourth year in education in the 27j School District. I taught 4th grade for two years in- person and 5th grade online this past year at Turnberry Elementary School. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Metropolitan State University. I’m planning to get my master’s degree in special education this upcoming year. I have two young children named Nadia and Sarah, ages 13 and 10 respectively. I am looking forward to a great year!
Matthew Seibel - 5th Grade Classroom Teacher
This is my 27th year of being a teacher. I have taught students from kindergarten through high school, with the majority of my experience centered around kids in the intermediate grades (4th, 5th, 6th). Since 2009, I have been a teacher for 27J Schools. I have one full year under my belt as an online 4th/5th grade teacher.
I grew up in Pennsylvania, and I graduated from California University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Elementary Education. I also earned a Master’s degree in Administration from the University of Phoenix.
I moved to Colorado in 1999 and shortly after met my beautiful wife, Angie. We have three amazing kids: Jakob (18), Adrianna (10), and Lucia (3). My life is a full-time husband and dad, and I embrace it with open arms. I try to appreciate all the moments I have with my family. My wife and I certainly do not take anything for granted - we have been fortunate to watch our kids grow.
In my free-time, I enjoy playing chess, doing yard work, playing with my dogs (chihuahua and a bulldog), and cleaning.
Your child will be in good hands with Mr. Seibel. I know what I’m doing, I think. I truly like kids. I think of myself as a big kid, and I feel that’s what makes my classroom a good place to be. I have rules and stuff, but I am confident your child will feel safe and happy in Mr. Seiblel’s class. And above all, learning will not be sacrificed. Remote learning works. Mr. Seibel’s classroom is going to be awesome!!
April O'Neal - 6th Grade Classroom Teacher
Hi! My name is April O'Neal, and I am the 6th grade teacher at 27J Online Academy. I changed careers 14 years ago to follow my passion for working with children. This will be my seventh year teaching 6th grade for 27J, including teaching 100% online this past year. Finding and utilizing innovative ways to engage students so they can persevere and realize those "Ah-ha!" moments is what fuels my passion to teach. I foster a growth mindset in my classroom because I believe my students are capable of amazing things. One of my favorite quotes is, "Mistakes are the portals of discovery." by James Joyce.
During my free time, I enjoy camping with my family, knitting, reading, and playing with my two dogs and cat. I am excited to be a part of the 27J Online Academy team and cannot wait to get to know all of you!

I am so excited to join the 27J School District team in the role of Principal of 27J Online Academy. I am looking forward to working with all the amazing people in the district to establish this new school and creating amazing learning opportunities for the students and families of 27J. I know working together as students, staff, and families we will create an amazing and vibrant learning community that strives to meet the needs of every child.
Learning, teaching, and leading learning have been central to my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up in Colorado and graduated from Berthoud High School in Berthoud, Colorado. I attended Colorado State University and earned a B.S. in Biology and Anthropology. Soon after graduating college I moved to Sweden and earned a Masters in Science Education from Stockholm University. I also hold a Masters in Educational Leadership from Western State College in Gunnison Colorado.
Over the course of my career in education I have taught highschool and middle school science for 10+ years, and I have spent seven years leading schools across the state of Colorado. My passion is creating the best possible opportunities for all students to learn, grow, and realize their own potential. I am grateful for this amazing opportunity to work in 27J.
Outside of the school, I enjoy traveling and spending time outdoors with my family, photography, reading, cooking, and of course building LEGOS with my daughters Victoria (8) and Audrey (7) who are also 27J students!
