Bobcat Bulletin
Week of Jan. 4th
Principal Petrick Message
I'm not one that normally gets too excited about New Years, but I must admit that I was pretty happy to see the calendar move forward to 2021. I'm hopeful that we will be able to make steady progress towards normalcy this year. I'm most looking forward to getting our Bobcats back to in person learning.
Since the pandemic started, we have been required to follow guidelines from the Governor's Office, Oregon Health Authority and Washington County Health. On December 23rd the Governor made an unexpected announcement that school districts would no longer need to follow the same metrics we have been following that determine the instructional model for students. This announcement seemingly has given school districts more flexibility to consider in person learning. I anticipate that in the next couple of weeks we will learn more about how the Governor's announcement will impact us in the 2nd half of the year. I will keep you updated.
Have a great week!
Mr. Petrick

Staff Transitions
We are appreciative of the contributions of Speech Language Pathologist Jane Murphy. Ms. Murphy came out of retirement to help us with SLP duties to start the year. We now have Ms. Lee Decouteau taking over the SLP duties. We are currently in a transition period to get Ms. Decouteau onboarded. If you have questions about SLP scheduling you can contact Paice Adams.

FVPAE Needs Can Driver Volunteer
Farmington View's Can and Bottle Recycling Program is looking for a volunteer to take over transporting the bags of sorted cans/bottles to the Oregon Beverage and Recycling Center in East Portland. Our current volunteer, Dick Meeuwsen, is an FVES alumni father who continues to do FVPAE a huge service out of the kindness of his heart! He is needing to "retire" from his volunteer position due to health reasons but is willing to stick around to show the new volunteer the ropes. If you're interested in volunteering or have questions please contact Natasha at natasha.garcia93@gmail.com.
Details: He uses an 18ft trailer but 16ft would also work. Typically he takes one load per month, although it has increased to two loads since COVID started.
