Sometimes when we get into a disagreement or an argument with a sibling or a friend we shut down, or worse, we do something that we later regret. Watch this video and learn about “I messages” and how to talk through your feelings. To read more about “I messages” click here.
Wellness Wednesday
Hand washing is very important in fighting off germs. Watch this video to see how germs are attracted to our skin and why we should fight them off with hand-washing.
Latania Logan, MD, a pediatric infectious diseases specialist at Rush University Medical Center, discusses the importance of teaching kids the proper way to wash their hands to prevent the spread of viruses. The students learn how to wash their hands with a catchy little song.
Think it Through Thursday
During this time of E-learning and social distancing, it’s easy to think about all the things, people, and places you miss!! To help us get through this, let’s come up with the things and/or people we are grateful for that we have right at home!!
Kindergarten-2nd grade: Watch the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5Umo80x9og then draw a picture of something you are grateful for. You can put your picture on the refrigerator or your family can make a gratitude wall.
3rd-5th Grade: Watch and discuss https://youtu.be/TxFRx-87-Qo
Think about the 1st place you want to go, 1st person you want to see, or 1st thing you want to do when we are able to leave our houses again. Draw it out, talk about it at dinner, go for a walk, and discuss it. Let’s change the focus of what we don’t have, to what we do have!!
