Beginning with a Blank Presentation
Open the Sway App
To create a New Sway, login to your Office 365 email. Click on the upper left hand corner of the window (the waffle). Click Sway.
Differences
Between Storyline and Design: Storyline is where you add content. Design is how the Sway will look.
Create and Organize Storyline
After clicking Create New, the Create & Organize area opens.
- This is the canvas where the Sway will be built.
- It begins with a Title Card at the top.
- To add a title, click where it says Title your Sway.
- A background image may be added in the background placeholder.
- On the Title Card, the background image will cover the entire page.
- Once clicking on the background image on the left-hand side Suggested appears. This will give images for the heading topic related to your Sway.
Adding Content
The text card allows you to add text to your Sway. The text card has six options:
o Heading will add larger text that will act as a heading. A background image can also be added.
o Emphasize will bold the text.
o Accent will italicize the text.
o Bullets will add bullets for a bulleted list.
o Numbers will add a numbered list.
o Link will allow some or all of the text to become a web link.
To delete the card, click on the trash can in the upper right hand corner.

· Horizontally – Arrows are available in the lower right hand corner to move the viewer through the Sway. There is also an arrow to return the viewer to the beginning of the presentation
Slides: More like a traditional PowerPoint, but more interactive.
Remix
Remix is a unique option in Sway. It allows the creator to create the Sway and then let the program determine the final layout of the presentation. If you don’t have a specific sequence in mind, this can be an interesting experience.
