CLEARWATER STEAM NEWSLETTER
Week of October 2- 6, 2023
Greeting Clearwater Elementary STEAM Families,
October already! Time is flying by!
Next week, we will be celebrating National Walk to School Day. Special thanks to Ms. Baker, our counselor, for organizing the event and coordinating with Perris High School Cheerleaders, City of Perris Traffic Officers, and our friend Larry the Lion from Nutrition Services! See details below.
It's going to be a fantastic week at Clearwater!
CLEARWATER COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS
Mrs. Tucker welcomes students with a smile and a sign to show students we are happy to see them at school. Welcoming students and families every day with a smile can set the tone for a fantastic day for our students and families.
ATTENDANCE
Be On Time Every Day!
Instruction begins at 8am. Please plan to arrive by 7:50am to ensure your student can be in class, ready to learn, when the bell rings!
STEAM HIGHLIGHTS
2nd Grade Dolphins are engaged in exploration and engineering with Twig Science. This week, they collaborated with peers to create structures using paper and spaghetti. Next, they will design and construct structures with popcycle sticks. Stay tuned to see which structures bear loads best.
6th Grade Project Based Learning
As part of their 6th grade PBL, students learned about the engineering process. Students went through the design process to design and build a prosthetic hand using a limited amount of materials and staying within a budget.
