Division II (6th-8th grade) Lawtell Beta students attended the National State Convention on February 20th – 22nd . Students were able to compete and meet other Beta members across the state.
Mrs. Dayna Dupre’s 2nd Grade math class at Lawtell Elementary completed a mural using Math Facts. Early finishers are pictured!
Lawtell Elementary celebrated “Read Across America” on March 1st in honor of Dr. Seuss’s birthday. The Beta students read Dr. Seuss books and complete Seuss activities with K-2nd grade students.

Ms. Nelson’s class read Dr. Seuss’ Butter Battle Book. We then made butter and conducted an experiment to see if eating crackers butter side up or butter side down was better. The students discovered that it didn’t matter how you ate the buttered crackers, they tasted the same!

Mrs. J. Storey’s students at Sunset Middle School observed the effects of a simulated oil spill on land, water, and wildlife. In groups, students tested different materials and tools used to clean up oil spills and evaluate them for their effectiveness.
