Jim Crow Laws

By Robert mostly, but Alex helped I guess

What are Jim Crow Laws?

Jim Crow Laws were laws made to enforce segregation, in the "New South".

Originally made after reconstruction, these laws are considered the "Successor" to The Black codes. The picture to the right is an artists interpretation of the laws.

"Separate but but equal."

Although segregation in theory was supposed to be equal, it really wasn't.

Black public spaces were far more impoverished than white ones.

Segregation was just another way to be racist.

Here some examples of "equality".

Thanks to all of the Civil rights activists, This is all over.
