PBIS News:
Welcome to December! We had a wonderful time giving to our community in November; thanks to all the families who contributed to our successful food drive for Aunt Dot’s Place! Thanks to our students who raised $140 for the Essex Tween Center by being Safe, Kind, Responsible and Respectful.
This month finds us exploring and understanding joy; what it means, how we find it, how we share it. At our Town Meeting this month we were treated to videos of our Mountaineer students who have poems in the upcoming “Winter Tales” held at the Flynn Space. We also watched a short video that illustrated the contagious nature of joy - when you get it, you want to give it. Students will bring in photos of things that bring them joy - families, pets, activities, anything that puts a smile on their face. Check out the classroom doors to see what brings our students joy.
Thank you for helping you students continue to be Safe, Kind, Respectful and Responsible.
Our next celebration will be....One of our Favorites! The Fleming Cineplex! When we reach our egg goal (by being Safe, Kind, Respectful and Responsible) students will have the chance to sign up for their choice of movies. There are many choices, and the more eggs we earn, the more fun things we can earn to go along with the movie. Did someone say popcorn? Encourage your student to follow the school expectations so they can enjoy a fantastic afternoon, which will be the Friday before Vacation!
The list of Movies is below but shhh! please keep it a secret! The kiddos are earning eggs and for every Egg that has been earned, a new door with a new movie is revealed. If you would rather your student not see a particular movie, please let either their teacher or the office know as soon as possible.
ELF, Cinderella, Ratatouille, Big Hero 6, Hook, Aladin, Dumbo, Bee Movie, Sandlot, Moana,
Incredibles 2, Horton Hears a Who, Lorox Smallfoot, Coco, Wonder, Mary Poppins Returns
A Series of Unfortunate Events, The Lorax
.
Thanks so much!

Winter is Coming!
Fleming's cold weather policies
As we enter the colder weather we just wanted to remind all families of the guidelines for winter gear. If the temps are below 55 degrees you need long sleeves. If the temps are below 45 you need a coat. If the temps go below 0 (with or without windchill ) we do not go outside.
Once the snow comes we are staying with the parameters of....
1. If you have snow pants and boots you have full access to the playground and field.
2. If you have only boots you can stay on the mulch or blacktop.
3. If you have no boots you have to stay on the blacktop
* It's very helpful when student's outerwear is labeled, to avoid it making it to lost and found*
MLK Dismissal Times
MLK is an early dismissal day for all students in the EWSD school district. Fleming will be out by 12:00 pm. Buses will still be an option, and will be on the same route schedule leaving Fleming by 12:30 depending on which bus.
News from our PTO

2. Bus Supervisor-Assist after school, providing supervision to students waiting for the bus to arrive. Please call the school for more information. This is a 1 hour position that starts after school.

Emily's Clothing Closet
Hello Fleming Family!
I want to be the first to introduce to you the….CLOTHING CLOSET!
The clothing closet is a space where families/students/staff can look at donated clothing and take it home for free! There is no limit to the amount of clothing one can take. Clothing Closet will be open during additional designated times (Parent/Teacher Conferences, Holiday Events) and on an as needed basis. I will add updates in the Fleming Flyer as we go!
The clothing ranges from kids- adults!
If you are interested in donating or in need of clothing please feel free to email me, your student’s teacher or our new school counselor C. Sellars.
Please feel free to contact me for any questions, comments, concerns
Thank you
