First Friday

Encourage one another and build one another up

The Great Bedtime Story Pajama Drive

This Friday, December 5, is Pajama Day! Our service project will support the combined efforts of Scholastic Books and The Pajama Program, a non-profit agency that serves children in foster homes, orphanages and shelters with a pair of new PJs and books, to give them "a better bedtime." The Great Bedtime Story Pajama Drive challenges students at schools across the country to donate new pajamas, and Scholastic will donate the books. Schools are then connected to a local center or organization for distribution.

If you would like to participate, please send in a pair of NEW pajamas, any size from infant to adult, this Friday. If you prefer, you could make a donation at the door and we'll add them together to purchase pajamas.

Students may wear their PJs to school on Friday. Please make sure they are appropriate for play and school activities, as well as warm and modest enough to serve as their clothing for the day. It's a good day to wear fleece, flannel pants, sweatshirts...something comfy cozy!

If you'd like to learn more about the drive, visit scholastic.com/pjdrive, or take a minute to watch this video.

Thank you for contributing, and may God bless our gifts and the hearts of our children as they learn to serve and care for others.
