Momot's Geography Bees
On June 12th and 13th the Fourth and Fifth Grade Geography Bees were held.
Neveah Nugent-Nadeau, Elle Emery, Laurelie Brassard, AJ Dion, Caleigh Latour, Elijah Adams, Griffin Durocher, Brayden Caraballo, and Sarayah Goodrow represented their classes in the Fourth Grade States and Capitals Bee. The bee ended in a four way tie between Elle Emery, Caleigh Latour, AJ Dion, and Brayden Caraballo!
Morgan Hall, Ava Perry, Helen Zhang, Jaelynn Lacey, Hannah Watts, Josiah Barnes, Nate Baker, Lisa Burgess, and Jonathan Frakes represented their classes in the Fifth Grade World Countries and Capitals Bee. Helen Zhang was the first place finisher, Lisa Burgess was the second place finisher, and Nate Baker and Josiah Barnes tied for third place.
Congratulations to all participants and winners!
Faculty and Staff Retirements
Many Momot Elementary School Faculty and Staff members are retiring this year. We wish them much happiness, health, and relaxation! Their expertise and presence will be deeply missed by all! Congratulations!

Looking for more opportunities to keep reading through the summer months? Don't worry, your Momot Elementary Library has you covered with two ways to access eBooks from home this summer. Both of these programs can be accessed from a PC, phone, or tablet and can be accessed on or offline (if you download the apps).
MyON Digital Library: The State Education Department is partnering with myON through Summer Reading at New York Libraries. Under this initiative, thousands of digital books will be available to children from birth to 8th grade, and their families, at no cost until September 30. To access myON and start reading, go to www.myon.com and click the MyON Login button. Enter the following information:

Password: read
Then all you need to do is select a book and start reading!
Capstone Interactive eBooks: Capstone Publishing is providing free access to thousands of eBooks and audio books from their digital library this summer. To access the titles and start reading, simple go to http://mycapstonelibrary.com, click on the "Log In" button and enter the following information:

Password: lovetoread

Plattsburgh City School District Announces New Logos
We are "happy" to introduce the new mascot of the Plattsburgh City School District - Happy the Hornet!
While we are sad that Monty Bear and his friends, Buddy (at Bailey Avenue Elementary) and Jaggy the Jaguar (at Oak Street Elementary), are retiring - we are excited to have a new mascot that unites the five school buildings in the Plattsburgh City School District!
