Principals Message
The first week of school, students will receive their Wildcat Binder and review the R.O.A.R. The Wildcat Binder will help all students with organization, which we know is a skill everyone needs to be successful in life. The binder is the student planner, a tool for school wide communication with families and a place where students can monitor their progress through out the school year. This will not take the place of any classroom notebook/folder(s). Students are expected to have their Wildcat Binder with them on a daily basis. Study hall teachers will be checking and monitoring student binders throughout the school year, to assist student with using the binder to best help them be successful.
The week of August 19th is our Student Data Chat week. This week, during study hall time, students will individually meet with a staff member to discuss last years progress and set a goal for this year. In addition, we will help students develop strategies to assist them with achieving their goal. Through out the school year, students will continue to monitor their class grades, quarterly check progress, and their progress towards achieving their goal. We conduct student data chats at least four times through out the school year.
Do you have a "MyStudent" Parent account?
If not, please make one as soon as possible! The school district will be providing progress reports and report cards in digital format through MyStudent. This is where you can monitor your students attendance, grades, test scores, and class assignments. In addition, it is a convenient way to communicate with your students' teachers. This is a one-time process, as your account remains active as long as you are a Pasco County School Parent. Register for a "Parent MyStudent" account. The district has developed a step-by-step video to assist you with this process. We will have laptops accessible to families to complete this during our Orientation day, August 6th.
Early Release days
Beginning in 2019-2020, Pasco County Schools will implement a monthly, two-hour-early release time to allow for staff to engage in professional development aligned with student needs and district and school priorities. Visit the link below for additional information.
