Sherburn Hungate Weekly News - Issue 22
A word from Mr Broom
This week we hold our Year 6 SATs meeting with parents on Tuesday evening. Miss Mackay and myself are visiting Selby Community Primary School on Wednesday as we look to foster links with quality educators both in and outside our STARMAT. We're going over to look at the way the school use feedback and critique in pupil work as well as their approaches to Mathematics. We're really looking forward to it.
Finally, thank you to everyone who has responded to our parent consultations. We look forward to seeing you soon.

To access the App, your child has to have fabricated their age (to appear over 12) or has been granted permission by an adult.
World Book Day - 5th March
We will be hosting a whole school celebration on 5th March for World Book Day and the children can come to school dressed as a character from a book if they wish. During the day, the children will be taking part in a range of book themed activities. It should be a blast!

Police Competition
Calling all budding young artists and designers
Enter North Yorkshire Police's Lifestyle logo competition – with a chance to win a Sony Cybershot camera.
We’re looking for talented young artists and designers to give our Lifestyle Challenge logo an overhaul.
Lifestyle Challenge is a competition that North Yorkshire Police run across the summer holidays every year, where we challenge kids across York and North Yorkshire to come up with a great project which benefits their street; local community or their environment and then deliver it. We then celebrate everyone’s success at a glittering awards ceremony at York racecourse later in the year.
But in the meantime we think our Lifestyle logo needs a redesign and who better to ask than the talented children of York and North Yorkshire.
This is our current logo – but we think you can come up with something better.
You can use any colour, design, font or typeface you like. The only thing we ask is that you include the words – ‘LIFESTYLE – make a difference in your community’
Once you’ve created your design, take a picture of it, or if you have created it digitally, send it as a PDF attachment to lifestyle@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk.
Deadline is Tuesday 31st March 2020.
The winning design will win a fantastic Sony Cybershot camera.
