Monroe Elementary News

From the Principal

We had a great first full week at Monroe Elementary. This week we had our first fire drill. I explained to all of the students that we practice this in case there was a real emergency. Everyone did a great job with this and we were all out of the building quickly. One important reminder, wearing masks on the bus is mandatory. Please make sure that your child has a mask that they can keep in their backpack when they aren't using it to put on while they are on the bus. If your child is participating in our "Breakfast and Blankets- honoring grandparents/special friends, please have your paper returned on Monday so that we can get a count of the number of people attending. Have a great weekend!

School Fees

School fees are due by September 30, 2021. The fee cost is $30 per student.

Masks

Jonathan Alder Masking Policy: Masks will be considered optional but strongly suggested, especially among our non-vaccinated population. Quarantine procedures will be guided by the Ohio Department of Health as outlined here.
Per federal mandate masks are to be worn on all public transportation, including school buses. This requirement is regardless of vaccination status.

Updated Food Services

Jonathan Alder will again participate in the Seamless Summer Option (SSO) waiver granted by the USDA. This program assists Jonathan Alder in providing breakfast and lunch to every student in the district free of charge. This program will remain in effect for the entire 2021-2022 school year. Extra milk will still cost $0.50. Free & Reduced Applications in Final Forms will need to be completed and approved to qualify for a fee waiver.
