Holy Name Highlights
November 3, 2017
Note from the Principal's Desk
Happy First Week of November!
We had an extremely busy week! From Halloween, All Saint’s Day, and the fall play there wasn’t a dull moment! I am very proud of all the kids and teachers as they adapted to different schedules and the events of the week. A big thank you to Mrs. Buckel and the Drama Club for their amazing performance of the Wizard of Oz! They all did a great job!
As we move into November, we will take time to think of all the things that we are thankful for and continue to work hard in and out of the classroom. Be sure to check Jupiter regularly and reach out to your child’s teachers with any concerns!
Thanks and have a great weekend!
-Mr. Kitchens
Middle School Math Update
As many of you know, Mrs. Ratcliff is expecting her second child sometime in early December. In lieu of seeking an outside maternity leave substitute teacher, we are excited that Mrs. Buckel will be stepping in to teach the 6th and 7th grade math classes while Mrs. Ratcliff is on maternity leave. We will be covering any technology classes that Mrs. Buckel will have to miss with the staff that we currently have.
Also, Mr. Mitchell and his wife welcomed their first child this morning. During his time off over the next week, Mr. Kitchens will be teaching the 8th grade math classes.
2017 Ministry Fair
As we honor the service of our military veterans on November 11th, Holy Name will be presenting the 2017 Ministry Fair in the JCPC on Sunday, November 5th. It will begin after the 7:30 Mass and will be concluding after the 11:30 Mass. Please think of how your skills, time, talents, and resources can help serve Holy Name parishioners, students, and community. You are invited to stop by, browse the various ministries, and decide how you can help build God’s Kingdom. We would love to see you there!
If you can’t join us, but would like to help in another way. We are looking for donations for light refreshments. Donations can be turned in to the school office by Friday, November 3rd. If you have questions, please contact Melissa Lewis at mlewis@holyname.cc .
Thanks!
St. Vincent De Paul Food Drive
Holy Name will once again be supporting the annual St. Vincent de Paul food pantry during the month of November. Families of students in grades Prek-5 are invited to donate non-perishable canned meals, such as chili, chicken & dumplings, beef stew, etc. The middle school students are invited to donate personal health care products, such as shampoo, toothbrushes, razors, toilet paper, etc. Everyone, please also consider making a monetary donation for the purchase of hams. The deadline for donations is Tuesday, November 21.
