Hello Twin Oaks Elementary Community,
Happy Weekend! I trust this message finds you well and that you've had the chance to relax and rejuvenate over the weekend. Personally, I took some time to recover from the stubborn cold that had me under the weather all week, and I'm thrilled to report that I'm finally on the mend.
As we head into the cold and flu season, I'd like to remind you to take good care of your family's health. Prevention and self-care are key during this time.
I'd like to extend my heartfelt thanks to those of you who joined us for our recent Boo Bash. It is always a joy to see our community come together and celebrate. I've heard nothing but positive feedback about this annual PTO event, and it warms my heart to know that it was enjoyed by all who were able to attend.
I'm excited to announce that our new school librarian, Ms. Muldowney, will be joining us this week, starting on Wednesday. Please join me in giving her a warm welcome to the Twin Oaks Family. I have no doubt that she will continue to make our school library as welcoming and comforting as Mrs. Gayden did.
I hope this weekend brought positivity and rest to your family. Our dedicated staff is eagerly awaiting the return of our Coyotes tomorrow. Have a wonderful Sunday evening, and I look forward to a fantastic week ahead.

Sheriff’s Office Tips: Talk to your students about situational awareness
With the new school year under way and many students walking or biking to school, and with Halloween around the corner, we wanted to remind you of the importance of situational awareness with some tips from our partners at the Sheriff's Office:
Always be alert to your surroundings and the people around you.
Do not be distracted by smartphones or electronic devices.
Go with a group; avoid walking or biking alone.
Don’t respond to conversation from strangers on the street; keep walking.
Keep these tips in mind in October, and all year long! Let’s stay safe, San Marcos!
