Dear Parents / Carers,
We have now reached the end of the spring term and what a strange and unprecedented term it has been! I hope that this brief newsletter finds you and your families safe and well and that supporting your childs' education at home has not been too onerous or difficult.
It has been lovely to receive so many messages of thanks and support for our staff and I know that they have been missing their classes as much as the children have been missing them.
As the holidays (!) start on Monday, it is important that both the children and the staff are able to have some respite from school work and therefore the teachers will be supplying a list of websites that your children may find useful or interesting. There is no expectation that your children complete work over this period, however you may feel that you have developed a good routine that you wish to keep up. Teachers will not be marking or setting new work over the break but will be refreshed and ready to start again on Monday 20th April.
When not setting and marking work our staff have been undertaking online courses to improve and update their practice as well as meeting daily and weekly online to plan our exciting new curriculum for the next school year. There has also been lots of additional paperwork to complete!
Should you need to contact school, it is easier to email admin@kf.starmat.uk as the phones are not always manned. Your message or question can then be passed on to the relevant person.
Finally, please do remember that these are unprecedented times and there is no pressure upon parents to become teachers. The most important thing is that you and your families stay safe and well, both physically and mentally. Every family will do things in different ways and have different needs and commitments over this time so please don't feel pressured to keep up with others or be driven by some of the things we are seeing in the media. You know the needs of your family and children best and like every other school in the country we will be there to educate your children once we are back in school. If you encourage your children to do only one thing then read, read, read!
Take care and we hope to see you all soon.

Dear Everyone,
It was lovely to meet with some of you this week at Collective Worship. We did all of the normal Collective Worship things and even sang Happy Birthday to people who had had a birthday since school closed!
Collective Worship is going to take place every Thursday at 10.00am until school re-opens, including over the next couple of weeks, during what should be the school holiday.
Simply come along to the St. Mary’s Church Church Fenton Facebook page and watch live. If you can’t watch live, all of the videos will be available to watch at any time.
It would be lovely to see you on Thursday 9th April (and every Thursday) at 10.00am.
Our Easter celebrations have had to change dramatically this year, although Easter is definitely not cancelled!
Our service on Easter Day (Sunday 12th April) will take place at 10.00am on Zoom – Room ID 9861012744. This a video conferencing website / app which means that we will all be able to see and hear each other. You need to register for a free account but it is very simple to use! Visit https://zoom.us/ or download the app. If you need any help, get in touch.
I hope that you are staying safe and have an enjoyable Easter. I look forward to seeing you soon.
God bless,
Simon
