Librarianz Got Skillz!

All AISD Librarians Meeting - January 13, 2016

Spotlight on: Library Skills for All

The January professional development meeting will focus on Library Skills - both the skills that we teach students to help them become effective library users and discerning information consumers, and the professional skills that we use every day as librarians. Please join us for this important opportunity for learning, collaboration, networking, and sharing.

Register in HCP for "Librarians' Training Session for All Levels: Professional Learning Community", course LIB.03, section 79628.

Librarians' Professional Learning Community

Wednesday, Jan. 13th, 2:30-4:30pm

745 Mansell Avenue

Austin, TX

Please note the times! Because we are still hosting some Palm students at Allan, the meeting times have been adjusted again this month. We want to start promptly at 2:30, so please try to allow time for traffic and parking.

Enterprise, Come In, Enterprise... (2:30 - 3:20)

One of the most fundamental library skills our students learn is how to use the library catalog. Learn more about Enterprise, the new version of the AISD online library catalog that will be rolled out next year! Jenny will introduce this exciting new resource, and there will be "sandbox time" to try it out for yourself and provide feedback.

Please bring your laptop, along with any lessons, activities, presentations, etc., that you use to teach students how to use the library catalog.

Breakout Sessions (3:30 - 4:30)

Please consider in advance which topic most appeals to you, and click HERE to let us know which session you plan to attend. This is not a commitment and you can always change your mind; this is just to help us plan which session to put in what room.

Tech Tools for the Timid, Too

Howard Martin returns to share more tech tips and tools in a low-pressure environment. If you don't feel confident with technology, this session will help you develop your skills.

Advanced Research Tech Slam
