Citizens have control of society

Society is to be in control of the citizens for greater good

Thesis

In “Harrison Bergeron” and “The Lottery” both text show how citizens don’t like or agree with the way the society is ran. Both story’s also show how the people will stop doing what they are told to do.

quote and analysis 1

"They do say," Mr. Adams said to Old Man Warner, who stood next to him, "that over in the north village they're talking of giving up the lottery" (Jackson 4).

This shows that some citizens are already taking control and stopping what they think is wrong for them. "They do say," Mr. Adams said to Old Man Warner, who stood next to him, "that over in the north village they're talking of giving up the lotter” (Jackson 4).

quote and analysis 2

"They do say," Mr. Adams said to Old Man Warner, who stood next to him, "that over in the north village they're talking of giving up the lottery" (Jackson 4).

This quote shows that there is no equality between citizens and that citizens are chosen to have a handicap instead of them self’s choosing of who should have them.

conclusion

those are reasons why I think the citizens in the story's should have control over society and it would just be better overall because then less problems would occur in the situations occurring in these storys.
